Our Mission

“The Salish Sea Research Center provides our students the opportunity to work with faculty to engage in research projects and develop their science and technical skills.”

– Dr. Justin Guillory, Northwest Indian College President.

The mission of the Salish Sea Research Center is to prepare the next generation of environmental scientists and leaders through fostering respect for indigenous knowledge of nature, providing opportunities for students to gain a solid background in scientific methods, and fostering critical thinking skills and self-motivation.
